Training, Recertification, and Technical Assistance Requests

Effective August 1, 2025, training fees have changed. Please see the respective program for updated training fees and additional information.

Thank you for your interest in obtaining more information about professional development and technical assistance for your programs. We are working on formalizing an interactive calendar of our scheduled professional development events and hope to have this available soon.

Meanwhile, listed below are training events for multiple programs available in English and Spanish (e.g. Guiding Good Choices, SFP 10-14, Positive Indian Parenting, Strategies for Effective Eating Development, Building Strength through Coping) along with their associated registration links. For detailed information on these events or to schedule technical assistance, please email us at a.martinez@wsu.edu or sfp.1014@wsu.edu.

Be sure to visit often as we will update the calendar as new trainings are finalized and scheduled. If you, your site, or organization need training outside of the statewide scheduled events listed below, contact us to discuss your training needs. We will try our best to accommodate requests and ask for as much lead time as possible.

We offer technical assistance for prevention-focused evidence-based program delivery in a variety ways and invite you to contact us to help you start on your planning.

  • Webinars and virtual broadcasts
  • Group- and site-based meetings available in-person, phone, or via Zoom
  • One-on-One consultation sessions
  • Readiness primers to help you determine where you, your site, or organization are in terms of programming infrastructure, logistical planning, recruitment, evaluation and assessments, budgeting, etc.

Training and Registration Fees

There are multiple ways to receive training based on team and community needs.

Hosting a Training

Request that a trainer come to your site where you have recruited participants (in-house or across communities) to be trained and certified to deliver SFP 10-14 in your community.

  • Small Training (10-15 facilitators) is $3,200 for one trainer plus travel (transportation, accommodations, meals estimated at $950). Curriculum material costs not included. See Curriculum Cost below for more information.
  • Large Training (16+ facilitators) is $4,975 plus travel for two (2) trainers (transportation, accommodations, meals estimated at $950 per trainer). Curriculum material costs not included. See Curriculum Cost below for more information.
  • Contact AnaMaria Diaz Martinez to schedule and receive the payment link.
Statewide Training

Register for a training where the training participant travels to the training site. Training sites are located in urban and rural sites to provide greater accessibility to the training events. It is recommended that if your site, organization, agency is sending participants to a statewide training that at a minimum of three participants come from your area unless there are previously trained facilitators and you are adding to your team.

  • Cost is $600 per person and includes training materials, snacks, coffee, and tea. Curriculum material costs not included. See Curriculum Cost below for more information.
  • Registration fee discount available for groups of 6 or more from one site, organization, agency. Contact AnaMaria Diaz Martinez to discuss options.
  • Registration/training fee payment link will be sent after participant registration has been completed. See registration links below in the training event calendar.

In-Person: training participants can attend a local or statewide training event for days one and two. Day one generally consists of programmatic and developer updates to the curriculum and research. Day two recertification participants will help coach new facilitators under the direction of the trainer(s). This training is available in English and Spanish.

  • Cost is $225 per person and includes training materials and supplies. Curriculum material costs not included. See Curriculum Cost below for more information.

The training will included:

  • a thorough introduction to GGC and evidence supporting its effectives addressing risk factors and promoting protective factors

Training Material Requirement

Training participants are responsible for purchasing material prior to the training. To make purchases, visit University of Washington GGC CoMotion to order the following materials:

  • Membership Subscription (either 1 year or 3 years). This will give you access to the online portal where your workshop materials are available for download,
  • Workshop Leader Guide (facilitator manual).

Both items should be ordered as soon as possible to minimize the risk of starting training without your needed materials and portal access. If you are not able to purchase the material, please let us know prior to the training as you may need to register for a later training course if your materials do not arrive by training day.
